As Father’s Day approaches, here are some special wedding day moments I have had the honor and privilege to witness and capture as a wedding photographer. These sweet and sentimental moments of brides with their dads make me tear up every single time!
Touching images full of emotion, as a photographer make my heartbeat. Why?
Because I lost my father when I was a young single woman. These are moments I never got to experience nor preserve.
Even though I didn’t get to live them with my father I can experience and imagine this moment in time, feeling my dad’s presence around me, with my brides. So God provided another way for me to experience this precious and brief moment, through the experience of my brides and their fathers.
Observing and admiring these brief, and fleeting precious moments brings me comfort and joy. Being given the privilege of capturing the emotion when daddy is holding you tight in his arms, while he shares the first dance with his little girl who is now a married beautiful woman, makes me think of how my dad would have looked at me, and how I would have felt being able to hold onto him, one last time.
When I look at these beautiful stories, no matter how long it has been, I get to feel the same feelings and emotions and gratefulness for having the opportunity to create and then capture these for all of my brides.
